CORRECT! All of the possibilities are useful and proper depending on how your data was collected. Be careful of #3 however. It is not to your advantage to saddle yourself with obviously incorrect or erroneous data. Therefore, if a series of readings is suspect, it is permissible to toss them out. However, if you have no reason to suspect the accuracy of any of your readings, then the easiest option is to increase your sample size. If after that the chi-square still puts you below the 5% level, you may need to reformulate a hypothesis.
